FBS projection calculator

The FBS Projection Calculator is an application that projects Gross Margins to next year (2014), based on historic performance plus current forward prices and exchange rates.  The results presented are projections based on transparent data, markets, and formulae.

Using your own historic results or typical FBS results, you can project forward to the next year's harvest, based on either our projection indices for each gross margin variable or your own expectations of future market values.

Wheat, barley (winter and spring), winter oilseed rape, or dairy are currently projected.

While this service is based on market projections and rigorously collected farming data the future is inherently unpredictable.  And so, the projections here should only be taken as 'one indication' of how things might turn out.  It remains that forward contracts can be used to 'lock-in' costs or sale-prices.
